The program kicked off on Friday, April 8, marking our eighth consecutive year of organizing the event. During the opening ceremony, the Foundation of Cardiovascular Imaging awarded specialists for their contribution to echocardiography in Bulgaria. Diplomas for contribution to the realization of valve interventions were awarded to Prof. Diana Trendafilova, Prof. Julia Dzhorgova and Prof. Ivo Petrov. The special award for overall contribution to imaging diagnostics and echocardiography in Bulgaria was given to Prof. Elena Kinova.

On Saturday (April 9) started the other part of the scientific program, filled with intriguing presentations of foreign and Bulgarian professors. The session “Challenges in Valvular Heart Diseases“ was interactive and allowed attendees in the room to answer questions related to diagnosis of the diseases. This raised many discussions and made the exchange of experiences even more interesting.
After the busy program, the evening ended with the candle light session, which is an authentic experience for Sofia’s Echocardiography Days. During it, specialists from all over the country present interesting clinical cases from their practice. After all the presentations, participants choose the winner with the most complex and/or successfully solved case. In this edition of the event, the winner was Dr. Rumena Savova, and the second and third place went to Dr. Dolina Gencheva and Dr. Victor Konstantinov, respectively. The special prize of 500 euros, in the name of Prof. Galderisi, was awarded to Dr. Detelin Dimov.

On the last day of the event (Sunday, April 10), a course on 3D echocardiography was held, led by the main organizer of the Days and president of the Foundation of Cardiovascular Imaging – Assoc. Prof. Krasimira Hristova.

The Sofia Echocardiography Days 2022 ended successfully and once again brought a wealth of knowledge and experience for the specialists in the field.
